Case Study – Steel Water Tank Repair
This project in Sheffield was one of the biggest reline jobs undertaken by Cold Water Storage. Our client had two very large steel Braithwaite tanks on-site that were both very heavily corroded, meaning they no longer met regulations.
The tanks were structurally sound so we wanted to try and retain them for a number of reasons; budget, impact on site and environmental sustainability.
The Solution
We put a project plan together and provided a quote for a steel water tank repair. A summary of the steel water tank repair project is described below:
- Full confined space entry.
- Shot blast abrasion of the entire tank and then once completed clean the tank and vacuum all dust.
- Coat the tank with a stripe coat and two full coats of a DWI approved epoxy coating.
